Junior Cycle

In Junior Cycle our students experience a wide variety of subjects and sit the Junior Certificate Examination which takes place at the end of 3rd Year.

The New Junior Cycle Programme has been introduced by the Department of education and is underway in the following subjects:

  • English which was introduced in 2014-2015
  • Science & Business Studies which was introduced in 2016-2017
  • Irish, MFL & Art which was introduced in 2017-2018
  • Maths, Home Economics, History, Geography & Music which was introduced in 2018-2019
  • Religious Education which was introduced in 2019-2020

Students will sit exams in English, Irish & Maths at Higher Level and Ordinary Level. All other subjects will be sat at a Common Level.
