Ski Trip Diary Part 2 2018

Day 2, group 2. It felt right from the start. The day was launched with a cracking start as we endeavoured to conquer both the mountain and ourselves. We met our instructor Julietta bright and early and we enthusiastically eased into what would evolve into a day of challenges and achievements. It wasn’t long before we were all at the very peak of the mountain, the valley of Pinzolo a mere few hundred steep meters beneath us and the cloudless sky close above allowing us to bask in the sun. Feeling rather confident, but of course not cocky as any experienced mountaineer knows that’s the key to calamity, we embraced the tricky but exhilarating race track. A few topsy turvy tumbles later and perhaps a collision or two and we were all reunited and ready to hit the piste once again. Our instructor Julietta began to feel we were ready to take our skiing careers to the next level and so, we embarked on our first Black Slope. Unbeknownst to us for the first fifty meters or so, we were cautiously descending the treacherous slope as a team, encouraging one another as we reached the bottom as a unit, without fall. Needless to say it was a successful day at the office by everyone in group 2 and we look forward to conquering the mountain all over again in day 3.
