Mount Anville 5-8 -- 3-4 Gaelcholáiste Reachrainn

Mount Anville have progressed to the knockout stages of the North Leinster Junior championship with a hard-fought win over Gaelcholáiste Reachrainn. Despite missing several senior members of the panel, Mount Anville showed great unity, and a whole-panel effort, in topping the group with their decisive victory in Glenalbyn park.

A soft drizzle on a humid Thursday afternoon saw a greasy surface develop, but Mount Anville showed great poise and tactical nous in keeping the ball in hand and utilising a possession game to wear their opponents down. The 2nd year students, newer members to the panel this year and very admirably filling the absences left by missing TY and 3rd yr students, embraced the philosophy of "do your job", and were disciplined in their steely approach towards maintaining the fluid system which has seen Mount Anville dominate North Leinster in recent years.

An efficient and determined effort saw Mount Anville overcome their toughest obstacle to date, and the quarter-finals of North Leinster await.
