Feast of Mater Admirabilis

Today in Mount Anville we celebrate the Feast of Mater Admirabilis. We remember all our Sacred Heart schools worldwide along with members of the Society of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ) on this special day of prayer and reflection.
Feast of Mater Admirabilis
All Sacred Heart schools display a painting or statue of the Blessed Mother, clad in pink, that was painted in the mid-19th century by a French RSCJ postulant, Pauline Perdrau.
At noon today, a prayer to mark the Feast day was read by our Ethos Prefect, Fiona Hagerty.
As a celebration, students and staff received a chocolate treat today. On special days in the Society and in Sacred Heart Schools, a special treat was provided. "Gouter" in French means "to taste". It is an old French custom of providing some light sustenance in mid-afternoon.
We ask Mother Most Admirable today to instil in us faith with a respect for intellectual values and a passionate desire to serve those in need, an instinct for building community and a profound and honest commitment to personal growth. May we always act as persons of courage, confidence and integrity.
With every blessing,
Religion Department
Today, November 18th as a Sacred Heart school community we celebrate the Feast of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne.
Third Year students and Ms Fitzgerald would like to sincerely thank you all for supporting this year's Christmas Shoebox Appeal in aid of Team Hope.
